Women's Rights: How things stand Archive
Friday 7 March 2008 - 20.00 > 21.30
deBuren, Leopoldstraat 6, 1000 Brussels
After the first and second wave of women's liberation it appeared no longer to be good form to talk about Women's Liberation and women's rights. Now that the headscarf is high on the political agenda the broader theme of women's rights is also increasingly starting to attract attention. This debate is about women's rights past and present, in Belgium and the Netherlands, involving young and old, and the indigenous and immigrant populations. The participants are the sociologist Sawitri Saharso, the feminist, former TV-presenter and taboo-fighter Paula Semer and Magda De Meyer. The moderator is Gui Polspoel.
