This year, Ultima Vez, the world renowned dance company headed by choreographer Wim Vandekeybus, celebrates its twentieth anniversary in grand style, with among other things the dance performance Spiegel, (Mirror) which showed the high points of Vandekeybus' work. deBuren is happy to be continuing the celebration: we are turning the spotlight on Vandekeybus' photographic talent.
Vandekeybus took the photos for this exhibition when he was travelling through Chile and Morocco as preparation for his next full-length film which, according to him, has nothing at all to do with dance. He travelled around and photographed people and landscapes just as he had visualised them when writing his screenplay.
"The exhibition will be a ref lection of what I have been engaged in in recent years", says Vandekeybus. "It will be a visual experience that will work like a shared emotion or dream."
