The ALCS organizes its biennial conference for the ninth time. Over forty academics present their interpretation of the theme ‘Low Countries, Big Cities'. Keynotes by Herman Pleij (UvA), Wim Vandenbussche (VUB) and Geert Buelens (UU). The theme is a direct result of the participation of the University of Sheffield in the residence project citybooks, with authors Joost Zwagerman, Rebecca Lenaerts, Helen Mort, Ágnes Lehóczky and Abdelkader Benali, photographer David Bocking and video artist Dominic Green. The citybooks will be festively presented on the 4th of April.
Organization: Association for Low Countries Studies (ALCS) and The University of Sheffield with support of the Nederlandse Taalunie and the Vlaamse Vertegenwoordiging
