Philosopher Peter Venmans researched the life and work of the German Jewish Hannah Arendt. As a student she had a relationship with Martin Heidegger. Later in her life, when she talks about his ‘passionate way of thinking', she also refers to his passion for platonic eroticism. After the war she studies the mechanisms of dictatorial ideologies. She also points out the dangers of a passive and absentminded life.
